What would you place in a time capsule to be opened in 100 years?
At the Newton-Needham Chamber’s 100th Annual Achievement Breakfast we asked attendees to suggest items that could go in a time capsule to be opened on the Chamber’s 200th anniversary in 2115. Here are some of the many suggestions:
- Photos of each of our village and town centers
- Pictures of the Route 128 road work
- A cell phone or more specifically, an iPhone
- A selfie stick
- Drone digital footage of the 2015 “Feast of the Falls”
- A newspaper from the 11/5/2015 (day of the 100th Annual Breakfast)
- The #1 movie, song and best-selling books from 2015
- A small piece of Needham’s historic “Blue Tree”
- Apple Watch
- The transformation of the new Atrium Center
- A collection of “memes”
- A business card from Newton’s “Board of Aldermen” soon to be the “Newton City Council”
- A flash drive containing the slide show from the chamber’s annual breakfast – showing photos from events throughout the year
- Video walks through parks and trails in Newton and Needham
- Police officer uniform
- Map of Newton and Needham roads
- Menus from local restaurants
- The chamber’s current business directory
- A credit card – or currency generally
- A traffic cone

We will continue to collect your suggestions at our remaining 2015 events or you can share them on our Facebook page.
