This morning we're asking for your help

This morning we're asking for your help

From the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, your chamber has been working hard to provide the resources and information our local businesses and nonprofits need to navigate this unprecedented shut-down.

And now - as we begin to reopen our economy - our vigilance will be even more critical.

But we need your help.

One third of our 2020 operating budget depends on revenue for events that have been cancelled or put on hold. Dues revenue has declined too, as some members seek to regain their financial footing.

As a result, we’re projecting that the chamber could end 2020 as much as $75,000 in the red.

So today we’re reaching out to ask for your help so your chamber can continue to advocate for the economic and cultural vitality of our communities.

A few generous members have already stepped up and contributed close to $25,000 (We’ll tell you who they are tomorrow). We’re now seeking donations, large and small, to close our remaining $50,000 projected deficit.

There are three ways to give:
  • If you’re not a member already please join. Belonging to the chamber not only supports our advocacy and programming, it conveys strength in numbers, signaling to local, state and federal officials that you share our commitment to thoughtfully rebuilding our economy.
  • Donate. Any contribution large or small will be deeply appreciated.
  • Become a 'Citizen Member' for $95. Today we’re introducing a new way for individuals to support the chamber’s advocacy and programming. Citizen Members are individuals who are not directly affiliated with a local business or nonprofit organization but share and want to support our mission.
Go here to contribute and learn more about these options.

We’re committed to standing with the businesses and nonprofits that make our communities special. Please stand with us by donating to underwrite our advocacy and programming.

On behalf of our boardstaff and all of our region’s businesses and nonprofits, thank you.

President

P.S. We'll be back tomorrow with our usual news updates.
