Phase 2, Part 2 includes limited-capacity indoor dining (with six feet social distancing table seating, max seating size of six, no bar seating), as well as close contact personal care services such as massage therapy, nail salons and tattoo parlors.

 

Retailers may open fitting rooms by appointment only.

 

In addition, offices can also go from 25 percent to 50 percent capacity.

 

Baker said it will be at least two weeks from Monday before Phase 3 might begin. So the soonest Phase 3 could happen now would be July 6.

New place-making grants available

 

The administration also announced $225,000 in funding for the Commonwealth Places program, a statewide initiative that could be used for outdoor seating spaces, sidewalk retail venues, partitions to support social distancing, and more.

 

Nonprofits and other community groups can for apply for the grants. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis beginning Monday until July 31.

 

Juneteenth declaration

 

Baker also issued a proclamation today to commemorate Juneteenth.

 

Part of the proclamation reads “On this day, in hundreds of communities across the country, people of all races, nationalities and religions join hands to acknowledge the painful history and lasting, systemic impact slavery and racial injustice in the United States. Juneteenth is an opportunity to recommit ourselves to the goal of creating a more equal and just society, an effort that continues today. “

 

A bill filed by a state lawmaker yesterday would make Juneteenth a state holiday.
