Nonprofit that helps kids in the juvenile court and child welfare system to be golf tournament beneficiary
The Charles River Regional Chamber has chosen Newton-based One Can Help to be the nonprofit beneficiary of its 33rd annual Golf Tournament, presented by The Village Bank, at Woodland Country Club on Monday, August 5.
Each year, the chamber’s golf committee selects a different member nonprofit whose mission includes working with children and families to be the recipient of a portion of the tournament’s proceeds. This year, the committee was moved by One Can Help’s (OCH) work within our communities and throughout Massachusetts to support individuals in the juvenile court and child welfare system.
“One Can Help (OCH) is honored to partner with the Charles River Regional Chamber to raise funds to provide the missing resources at-risk youth, foster children and struggling families need to succeed,” said Anne Bader-Martin, executive director.
“By quickly providing much needed resources, we can help our most vulnerable children improve difficult lives and
build better futures.”
One Can Help works with juvenile court attorneys and social workers to provide items like beds and other basics so relatives can take in children in a crisis, laptops so children can have the tools they need to do well in school and bus passes & gas cards so families separated by temporary foster care or treatment can still visit. The organization has helped more than 18,000 children and families since its founding in 2006.
The Village Bank is once again returning as presenting sponsor of the August 5 tournament. Additional sponsors include Direct Federal, LoopNet, Hampton Inn & Suites-Watertown, Residence Inn - Boston, Watertown and Elliott Physical Therapy.
