Non-Profit Committee: Year one recap
Non-Profit Committee: Year one recap
By Lindsey Beauregard
As the Newton Needham Regional Chamber’s non-profit membership is growing, so too, is the commitment to providing these organizations with specialized support and services. Last year, Chamber President, Greg Reibman, rallied a group of dedicated non-profit members to come together and reinstate the Chamber’s Non-Profit Committee.
Since then, the committee has gained momentum and has established a diverse group of committee members from organizations ranging from one-person operations, to educational institutions, and regional branches of national organizations. This group has been working hard to identify the best ways to support the various needs of all of our non-profit members.
Over the last year, the committee has also explored various ways to make communication and organization between non-profit members easier. A non-profit calendar of events on the Chambers website, a google group, and networking for non-profits coffee connects have all steamed from the committee work.
In addition, the committee administered a comprehensive survey this spring to help provide context for future non-profit specific programing. An events subcommittee is currently using this data to plan programs for the fall.
We are excited to accomplish more in the year to come and we thank Wellesley Bank for their sponsorship of our group. Please note the non-profit's first ever after hours networking event below, and be on the lookout for non-profit events coming soon!
So, if you work, sit on a board or volunteer for a nonprofit organization, please join us for our first-ever non-profit after hours networking event at Wellesley Bank’s new Newton Centre location. For more information and to register, click here.
