Needham certified as BioReady
Needham has joined the list of Massachusetts communities that are BioReady, signifying a commitment and readiness to work with biotechnology companies interested in locating in these communities.
The BioReady Community designation (from MassBio, the state’s industry group) signifies that a municipality has biotech and life sciences-friendly zoning, a streamlined permitting process and robust infrastructure in place. The designation serves to showcase Massachusetts communities that are ready to host new life sciences research and manufacturing facilities.
"Having BioReady gold status represents another significant step in our efforts to attract innovative companies to the N2 Corridor," said Chamber President Greg Reibman. "We commend Needham's selectmen and town officials for their continued leadership on making the corridor welcoming to business."
The new and upgraded BioReady ratings were announced April 1 at the MassBio Annual Meeting. Needham Selectman Chair Moe Handel and Economic Development Director Devra Bailin were present for the announcement.
