How to get the most from your chamber membership

By Tiffany Chen

Hello chamber members! We are well on our way into spring and your chamber is here to help plant the seed for new connections, strengthen existing partnerships and grow your business.

There are three pillars to the mission of our chamber: advocacy, education and networking. With your membership, we provide opportunities and resources including networking events, networking groups, educational workshops and social media exposure. We’re here to help you navigate what works for you and your business/organization.

Get noticed. Your question may be: Where do I start? I always encourage our members to start by taking advantage of your online member profile, which serves as an alternative web page for your business/organization and a portal for your membership. Your member profile provides opportunities to attract new partnerships and share information with our community, the region and even internationally. Building out your profile is critical to gaining visibility and exposure to ensure everyone has access to complete, up-to-date information. Your profile is also a platform for you to share news, events and job postings.

Personal connections. When it comes to networking, you have a wide variety of options. We have chamber-wide morning and evening events that can attract between 50 to 100 attendees (and sometimes more); affinity networking groups (for young professionals, women, lawyers, nonprofits and real estate, to name a few); or you can join one of our small networking groups to connect in a more personal setting. We’re also here to help you network smarter. In each reminder email that we send out prior to an event you’re registered for, we include a list of names and businesses/organizations of all pre-registered guests.

Be heard. Last but not least, we’re here to advocate for you at City Hall, Town Hall, the State House or anywhere the interests of our business and nonprofit members need to be heard. If your business or organization is encountering any issues or would like to bring up relevant topics to the community, please let us know what’s on your mind.

We always love connecting with our members on social media as well. Like, follow, share and engage with us on social media! Find us on Facebook, follow us on Instagram and follow us on Twitter.

Feel free to reach out to me at info@nnchamber.com or 617-244-5300 for any how-tos, resources or any other help navigating through your membership. I’m always happy to help!
