The Newton-Needham Regional Chamber has chosen Hope & Comfort to be the nonprofit beneficiary of its 30th Annual Children’s Charitable Golf Tournament happening, for the first time, at Wellesley Country Club on Monday, Aug. 2.

 

Each year, the chamber’s golf committee selects a different local nonprofit whose mission includes working with children to be the recipient of a portion of the tournament’s proceeds. This year’s selection of the Hope & Comfort is notable due to its efforts in continuing to fight hygiene insecurity in youth throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

The Needham-based nonprofit’s provides essential hygiene products to support and improve the health, self-esteem, and hygiene education of school-aged children and young adults in need within Greater Boston.

“The chamber's generous support of our mission to end hygiene insecurity will help us serve thousands of youth and families in need during this challenging time, ensuring they have access to the essential hygiene products they need to feel confident and stay healthy."

 

The Village Bank is once again returning as a multi-year presenting sponsor of the chamber’s tournament.

 

Returning as a sponsor is Newton-Wellesley Hospital. ALL CPAs, LabShares of Newton, Direct Federal Credit Union, Mortgage Network have also jumped on board as sponsors of this year’s tournament. The Bulfinch Group has returned as the putting contest sponsor and The Princeton Review has committed to sponsoring the golf carts.

 

The 30th Annual Children’s Charitable Golf Tournament will take place on Monday, August 2 at Wellesley Country Club, 300 Wellesley Ave, Wellesley Hills. Registration fee includes all green fees and cart, lunch, use of practice facilities, prizes for top teams and a gift for each player.

 

This year’s tournament is sold out of spots for golfers but we are maintaining a waitlist here.
