Four new directors added to chamber’s board
Four new directors will be joining the Newton-Needham Regional Chamber’s Board of Director in early 2019. Dan Brent’s 3-year term began in January; Kathryn Ellis, Jack Fucci and Tali Golan will start their terms effective March 1.

Dan Brent is vice president of Finance and Operations at William James College and brings years of financial experience to the chamber. The chamber will be looking to Dan, who has previously managed and performed audits of several clients in the nonprofit sector, to share his knowledge of best practices and guide the chamber through this time of unprecedented growth in membership.

Kathryn Ellis is Newton’s Director of Economic Development. Her main objective is to attract and retain a strong mix of Newton businesses while retaining the high quality of life the city offers its residents. Already active with the chamber’s N2 Innovation District committee and the Newton Innovation Center, Kathryn will continue to help guide the strategy and implementation of the chamber’s largest economic initiative of creating an innovation hub in the suburbs.

Jack Fucci is the president and CEO of the West Suburban YMCA of Newton. In his role at the Y, Jack provides leadership, vision and strategic direction to one of the region’s largest charitable nonprofit organizations. He brings to the chamber his experience of working with a committed Board of Directors and staff to ensure that his organization’s more than 12,000 members receive exemplary customer service and outstanding value while serving the greater needs of the community.

Tali Golan is the Director of Social Impact at TripAdvisor, overseeing the company’s global philanthropic, volunteerism, and community impact strategies and initiatives including the TripAdvisor Charitable Foundation. She has previously helped corporate clients craft social responsibility strategies, forge public and private partnerships, and develop employee volunteer and engagement programs.
Also returning to the board following one year’s hiatus is former board chair Seana Gaherin, proprietor of Dunn-Gaherin’s Food & Spirits and Linda Sloane Kay, Executive Vice President at Century Bank.
