Former Watertown-Belmont Chamber executive director dies

Paul Airasian, former executive director of the Watertown-Belmont Chamber of Commerce died unexpectedly Sept. 23 at the age of 70.

Airasian was born and grew up in Watertown, graduating with the class of 1966 from Watertown High School. He was a former owner of the Eastern Clothing Company in Watertown. He was the Executive Director of the Watertown Belmont Chamber of Commerce prior to that chamber’s closing earlier in 2018. He was also a former member of the Oakley Country Club, Watertown and was a host on "Inside Watertown" on the local cable channel.

“Paul was a gentleman and respected colleague and friend. Our sense of loss and shock at this time are little compared to what his family must be experiencing,” said Mike Albano, the WBCC’s former board chair.

Memorial donations in Airasian’s memory may be made to the Watertown Community Foundation, P.O. Box 334, Watertown, MA 02472 or online at http://www.watertownfoundation.org.
