Chamber welcomes three new directors

Come January, there will be new faces around the table at the monthly meeting of the chamber’s board of directors. With several current directors stepping down due to term limits, three new directors were appointed to the board at the Nov. 10 annual meeting.

Bruce A. Gold, CPA, MBA, MST served for 30 years as managing partner of his Newton based CPA practice, Gold & Goldberg, LLP before becoming a principal at Abrams Little-Gill Loberfeld PC in 2010 upon the retirement of his partner, Leonard J. Goldberg. Bruce’s commitment to Newton’s civic and business community includes 14 years on the City of

Newton Economic Development Commission, chair of the Newton Centre Subcommittee and former treasurer of the Newton Schools Foundation. Locally, Bruce has also served as past president of the Temple Emanuel Newton Brotherhood as well as a former treasurer and trustee of Temple Emanuel.

Kurt P. Ochalla, MCR LSCR joins our board after playing an instrumental role in the chamber’s launch of the N2 Innovation District. As Senior Director, Global Real Estate at TripAdvisor and with an extensive career in all facets of corporate real estate, he brings with him a deep knowledge of the challenges and potential facing the Newton-Needham region as we look to build a suburban hub of companies that foster innovation and entrepreneurship. Kurt is on the Board of Assessors for the Town of Needham and is a Board of Director and Membership Committee Chair of CoreNet Global, a global association for corporate real estate.

John Spino, Esq. will bring his 17 years of expertise in real estate and business law to the chamber. John is a founding partner of the law firm of Dwyer, Ruggieri, Spino & Goncalves, LLC in Newton Corner.

At the chamber’s annual meeting members also voted to reappoint Mark Jeffery, recently named General Manager of the Sheraton Needham, to the board. A past Special Events Committee Chair and wonderful hospitality event partner while at the Newton Marriott, we’re so pleased to have the opportunity to once again work with Mark on a variety of chamber events and initiatives.
