Once again, the Friends of The Newton Free Library is proud to host "Mini Golf Weekend at the Newton Free Library." Saturday evening (October 3rd) is 21+ as beer and wine will be served, and Sunday morning (October 4th) is for families. This year’s event will be sponsored by Scholars Golf Club, 92 Rowe St., Newton O2466. Over the past four years, we have held this event and have raised over $70,000, which has gone directly to the library. The Friends provide vital funding to do things like support programming for children, teens and 'tweens, purchase art for the library, and purchase furniture. The Newton Free Library is the busiest in the Minuteman Library Network, and, as the heartbeat of our community, depends on the financial assistance provided by The Friends to keep growing and providing for the community. Join us for this fun-filled weekend and enjoy 18 holes of mini-golf, food, beverages, entertainment, a fabulous silent auction and more. In the future, the Friends will also be involved in getting the Library's bookmobile outfitted and operational - stay tuned for that!
