Douglass Ridley School (DRS) is a new independent, nonprofit elementary school in Boston rooted in Reggio Emilia-inspired learning, exploration, creativity, and a commitment to education as a force for justice and joy.

We are looking for new board members who are excited to help a young school grow thoughtfully and sustainably. You do not need to be an educator or have previous school-board experience. We are especially interested in people who can bring expertise, connections, and perspective in areas such as:

• Finance, accounting, or business
• Fundraising and philanthropy
• Marketing, communications, or public relations
• Human resources
• Law or governance
• Real estate or facilities
• Community partnerships and business development
• Nonprofit leadership
• Boston community connections

Most importantly, we are looking for people who believe in the power of education and want to help build something meaningful in Boston.

As a young school, there is an opportunity to do more than simply advise an established organization. Board members will help shape the systems, partnerships, and vision that will guide DRS for years to come.
