About

Founded in 1983, the Newton Food Pantry is the oldest and largest nonprofit hunger-relief organization dedicated to Newton residents in need. For more than 40 years the Newton Food Pantry’s committed team has provided food and personal care items to residents of our city who are experiencing food insecurity. The Newton Food Pantry currently provides supplemental food to more than 2,500 Newton residents. Our clients can shop twice monthly for a hearty supply of healthy groceries. Those in need will find our shelves stocked with fresh produce, dairy, meat proteins, personal care items, and culturally-relevant foods.

The Newton Food Pantry also operates the Newton Community freedge, a 24/7 refrigerator and dry pantry serving anyone in need. It is located at 420 Watertown Street in Newton. The freedge is stocked by the Newton Food Pantry, many business partners, and our community at large.

In order to continue to fulfill our mission of providing nutritionally balanced supplemental food assistance to Newton residents experiencing food insecurity, we need and appreciate your support.
