We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our team. As a Massage Therapist, you will provide therapeutic massage treatments to clients, helping them achieve relaxation and relief from pain or tension. You will utilize your knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and various massage techniques to customize treatments based on individual client needs.

Duties:

• Perform patient assessments to determine their specific needs and concerns
• Provide therapeutic massage treatments using techniques such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and/or Swedish massage
• Apply appropriate pressure and adjust techniques based on client preferences and comfort levels
• Educate clients on the benefits of regular massage therapy and provide recommendations for ongoing treatment plans
• Maintain accurate and detailed client records, including treatment notes and progress reports
• Collaborate and recommend other wellness practitioners at Blue Lotus: Acupuncture, Energy Healing, Nutrition, and Yoga to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients,
• Stay up-to-date with current trends and advancements in the field of massage therapy
• Ensure the massage treatment room is cleaned after each treatment and at the end of each shift.
• Work with the Yoga Studio and Wellness Manager to create and implement a monthly marketing plan using social media, Constant Contact, flyers, newsletters, and other print media to increase new client acquisition, activation, and retention.
• Attend and participate in regularly scheduled instructor and practitioner meetings that include discussions about yoga studio and wellness trends, policy changes, timeliness, and any concerns that would need to be addressed to keep a positive and supportive work environment.

Skills:

• Proficient in medical terminology related to massage therapy
• Ability to perform patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and the musculoskeletal system
• Skilled in various massage techniques, such as deep tissue massage, Trigger Point therapy, Manual Lymph Drainage, Myofascial Release, Sports, Hot Stone, Hot Salt Crystals, Pre-Natal, Craniosacral, Shiatsu, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Zero Balancing, Lomi Lomi, Thai, Abhyanga, and Shirodhara
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional patient service
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
• Knowledge of occupational health practices and protocols

Requirements:

• Valid Massage Therapist license or certification in the state of Massachussetts
• Must carry liability insurance
• 1-2 years of experience as a Massage Therapist preferred: recent graduates also welcome
• Strong understanding of patient confidentiality laws and regulations

Additional Information:

• Position status: Part-time
• Location: Blue Lotus Healing Arts in Needham, MA
• Hours: 12-18 hours per week in the studio; flexible schedule
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, day and evening availability with one weekend day required
• Compensation: Compensation starts at 45% of client fee with potential to increase. $45.00-$74.25 per session with tips.
