Job Summary
As a Pack Leader, you will be responsible for taking the dogs out on their walk and filling in report cards in a timely manner. Your role is crucial in maintaining the quality of our services, ensuring client satisfaction, and fostering a positive work environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-leash and off-leash walks, tailored to the needs of individual dogs and ensure pack safety
- Pick up and drop off dogs from their homes and transport them safely to walking locations.
- Ensure the safety and security of the dogs during walks, avoiding hazards and maintaining control.
- Monitor and respond to any signs of stress, discomfort, or illness in dogs.
- Clean up after dogs during walks and dispose of waste responsibly in a public trash can
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates and feedback on their dogs' experiences on Pet Pocketbook report card systems
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and dog handling guidelines.
- Use Petpocketbook to track walks and send report cards
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with dogs in a professional or volunteer capacity.
- Proactive problem solving skills
- Understanding of canine behavior, body language, and positive reinforcement training techniques.
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Physical ability to walk and handle dogs for extended periods including inclement weather.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be 18+
Work Location: Newton, MA
Work Schedule - Monday to Friday (weekends for overnight dog sitting)
