We’ll be laser-focused on the economy at this year’s Spring Business Breakfast —one of the chamber’s two signature annual breakfasts—bringing together business leaders, nonprofit executives and community decision-makers from across Newton, Needham, Watertown, Wellesley and Greater Boston.
Our featured speaker will be Dr. Mary Burke, principal economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, who will offer insights on regional economic trends. Dr. Burke will discuss how employment growth in Massachusetts has stalled over the past year, how ongoing policy uncertainty is already weighing on economic activity locally and nationally, and why the outlook includes several downside risks that could have an outsized impact on our state.
We will also hear from Ashley Stolba, the Healey administration's interim economic development secretary. Stolba will be introduced by her former boss, Yvonne Hao, who recently announced plans to step down as economic development secretary to devote more time to her family.
Coffee and networking will begin in Sheraton courtyard at 7 a.m. before the formal event begins 8 a.m.
