About

thirds is a relationship-driven studio led by three partners who bring over 25 years of technical rigor and contextual sensitivity to lighting, interior, and architectural design. Our projects range in scale from private homes to mass transit hubs. 

 
thirds creates spaces and objects that manifest the spirit of place through the careful selection of textures, colors, and forms. We design interiors that reflect and respond to their surroundings, using material and light — our most foundational medium — to shape how we experience space. We seek to make no place alike, combating the "blandscape" with considered, sensitive design.

thirds believes that design is an act of stewardship. Good design should enhance our lives, promote physical and mental well-being, and support environmental justice. thirds considers these principles fundamental to all of our projects.
