Blue Zones Workshop and Reception

Blue Zones Workshop and Reception

Event

Learn how people in the Blue Zones live long, healthy lives through their lifestyle choices from a couple who were featured in the Netflix Documentary about these regions. A reception featuring food from Ithaki and Greek wine will follow!

All are welcome to join us for a special evening with Eleni and George Karimalis, of Ikaria, Greece and Blue Zones fame at the Maliotis Cultural Center in Brookline to learn how and why people in the “Blue Zone” of Ikaria live so well for so long.

First, the dynamic couple will explain how people in Ikaria stock their kitchens, cook and eat; the role of movement and community in their longevity; and provide plenty of lifestyle tips for your overall well-being. Attendees will get to know Eleni and George and have plenty of time to ask questions.

The lecture will be followed by a reception featuring Greek food and wine!

“Blue Zones” are areas of the world where people live exceptionally long and healthy lives, with remarkably high percentages of centenarians. We like to emphasize that the people who live in these areas have very active, fulfilling lifestyles!

In addition to learning about the refreshing way of life and culture that’s typical of Ikaria, this lecture offers the opportunity to build meaningful connections with other like-minded individuals.

This event is free for members as one of the many benefits of being part of Olive Tree Medical. Non-members are welcome and encouraged to join us for $75 per person. All profits will go to Community Servings, an organization whose mission is to help feed individuals and their families experiencing critical or chronic illness and nutrition insecurity.
